17th June 2005
Recently crowned Lichfield Bower Queen Emma Gardiner and Deputy Queen
Yasmin Moghaddan have been having a ball – by modelling dresses
from St Giles Hospice Shops’ range of evening wear.
The collection, available at the shop at 17 Tamworth Street in Lichfield,
is perfect for the fast approaching summer ball season - and with dresses
at value for money prices, they’re ideal for the reveller on a budget.
Lynwen Truesdale, General Manager of St Giles Hospice Shops, said: 'Thanks
to the generosity of the many local people who donate high-quality unwanted
clothing to us, we can offer a fabulous selection of evening dresses.
' We have dresses in all sizes and styles and I’d encourage everyone
who has a special occasion coming up to visit the shop where they can
snap up a great deal – and help a worthwhile local cause at the
same time.'
The range of evening dresses is ideal for the annual St Giles Hospice
Sunflower Ball, a black tie event held at Drayton Manor Park.
This year’s ball takes place on Friday, 24th June, with tickets
priced at £30.00 each, including a five-course dinner and dancing.

St Giles Hospice Shops play a vital role in funding the care offered by
the hospice, a registered charity based near Lichfield.
The thirteen shops are located in major towns throughout the hospice's
patient catchment area, which ranges from Ashby de la Zouch and Atherstone
in the east, to Cannock and Walsall in the west – and from Burton
and Uttoxeter in the north, to Sutton Coldfield and Coleshill in the south.
In addition, a clothing warehouse for donations and a furniture warehouse
offering a wide range of high-quality furniture at value-for-money prices,
are based in Shenstone, near Lichfield. A selection of furniture is also
available at the Cannock and Wylde Green shops.
Donations of high-quality clothing and items for the home are always welcome
at the shops and warehouses.
Last year the hospice shops raised a total of £607,000 – and
every penny is desperately needed by St Giles. The charity spends over
£5million caring for local people living with cancer and other serious
illnesses, as well as providing support for their families and carers,
and relies heavily on the support of local people to enable its valuable
work to continue.
