Introduction

Welcome to St Giles HospiceSt Giles Hospice is a registered charity providing high-quality medical and nursing care for local people living with cancer and other serious illnesses, as well as offering support for their families and helpers.

The dedicated team provides individually-tailored care either at the hospice or in patients' own homes across the region.

The range of specialist services is provided free of charge to all who need it. Although St Giles receives some funding from the Government, the charity relies heavily on donations and fundraising.

The hospice began its life at the former vicarage of St Giles Church in Whittington in 1983, when the then vicar the Reverend Paul Brothwell became concerned at the level of care given to terminally-ill patients in local hospitals.

Today, St Giles is a centre of excellence and one of the best-known and most respected charities in the region, with over 150 staff, 900 volunteers, thirteen charity shops, the most successful hospice lottery in the UK, and £4 million spent on providing care every year.
