Calling
all pubs, shops and businesses!
St Giles Hospice is appealing for
local businesses to give a home to a collecting box, which last year raised
£74,000 for the charity.
The hospice has 1,000 boxes stationed
at shops, hotels, restaurants and offices, but the more outlets collecting
loose change, the more vital care can be offered in the local community.
Businesses from across the hospice's
catchment area - from Ashby de la Zouch in the east, to Cannock and Walsall
in the west, and from Burton and Uttoxeter in the north, to Sutton Coldfield
and Coleshill in the south - are being invited to help care for local
people by giving a box a home.
Volunteers are also needed to collect
and count money from the boxes, to boost the 37-strong army of helpers
already operating in the area.
