The St Giles Hospice Charity Bowls League has been helping to support St Giles’ valuable work since it was established in 1997.

There are currently eight teams in the Crown Green Bowls league, with members playing home and away matches every Sunday morning during the season.

Each team member ‘pays to play’, contributing a minimum of 25p per week – although many teams give more according to what members can afford.

All the monies collected go to support St Giles Hospice’s work caring for people living with cancer and other serious illnesses.

In 2005 the league handed over more than £1,000 to the charity.

New teams are always welcome to join the league and can contact Secretary Brian Slater on 01543 264667.

The league is registered with the Staffordshire County Bowling Association.
