St Giles Hospice's team of consultants and other doctors are all specialists in caring for those living with cancer and other serious illnesses.
They look after patients in all departments of the hospice, carry out home visits, and hold outpatient clinics at the hospice.
They also work alongside NHS staff running clinics and seeing in-patients at many of the region's major hospitals. Their work takes them as far afield as Queen's Hospital in Burton upon Trent, Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield, Manor Hospital in Walsall and Stafford District General Hospital.
The consultants are also involved in the training of nurses and junior doctors. This passing on of specialist expertise is one of the key elements in the hospice's drive to focus not only on treating patients, but also on educating others who are its partners in care.
