The
very special care offered by St Giles Hospice extends not just to the
patients' physical wellbeing, but also to their emotional, psychological
and spiritual needs.
Alongside its traditional services,
the hospice also offers aromatherapy and other complementary therapies,
as well as a dedicated psychologist, occupational therapist, and a physiotherapist
to help patients with pain or mobility problems.
In addition, spiritual care
is offered to all, regardless of their religious beliefs. The chaplain,
four voluntary assistant chaplains, and Muslim and Hindu faith representatives
are on call at all times. On request, they will liaise closely with patients'
own religious leaders to ensure complete spiritual and pastoral care.
Patients'
families and friends can also turn to the chaplaincy for support.
