Bargain-hunters can enjoy even bigger discounts at St Giles Hospice’s
charity shop in Walsall.
The shop, at 40 Freer Street, is now a discount store, with a wide range
of high-quality donated clothing and items for the home for sale at hugely
reduced prices.
And happy shoppers will not only feel pleased they have bagged a bargain
- all the proceeds from their purchases go to support the hospice’s
work caring for local people living with cancer and other serious illnesses.
Lynwen Truesdale, General Manager of St Giles Hospice Shops, said: “All
our thirteen charity shops have earned a reputation for offering an excellent
range of items at keen prices.
“The Walsall shop now offers even better value for money –
the items on sale are exactly the same high quality found in our other
twelve charity shops, but the prices are considerably lower.
“I would urge anyone searching for a true bargain to pay the Walsall
shop a visit.
“Every penny raised through the sale of goods enables us to continue
to support the hospice’s valuable work in the community.”
The St Giles Hospice Walsall discount charity shop stocks a wide selection
of mens and ladies clothing, shoes and accessories, linen and bedding,
and bric-a-brac.
Donations of high-quality unwanted clothing and items for the home which
can be sold are always welcomed.
The Walsall shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9.30am to 4.15pm, and
volunteers and staff can be contacted by telephoning 01922 720922.
St Giles Hospice Shops play a vital role in funding the care offered by
the hospice, a registered charity based in Whittington, near Lichfield.
The thirteen shops - including a dedicated book shop - are based in major
towns throughout the hospice's patient catchment area, which ranges from
Ashby de la Zouch and Atherstone in the east, to Cannock and Walsall in
the west – and from Burton and Uttoxeter in the north, to Sutton
Coldfield and Coleshill in the south.
In addition, a clothing warehouse for donations and a furniture warehouse
offering a wide range of high-quality furniture at value-for-money prices,
are based in Shenstone, near Lichfield. A small selection of furniture
is also available at the Cannock and Wylde Green shops.
Donations of high-quality clothing and items for the home are always welcome
at the shops and warehouses.
Last year the hospice shops raised a total of £607,000 - and every
penny is desperately needed by St Giles. The charity spends over £4million
caring for local people with cancer and other serious illnesses, as well
as providing support for their families and carers, and relies heavily
on the support of local people to enable its valuable work to continue.
