Bargain-hunters can pick up quality items at St Giles Hospice’s newest shop in Brownhills.
The charity shop on Brownhills High Street is the 15th in the hugely successful St Giles group, selling clothes, books, CDs, videos and DVDs, in addition to a wide range of items for the home and a dedicated furniture department.
St Giles specialist nurses have been caring for people of Brownhills for many years, and all proceeds from items sold help the registered charity to continue this care for local people living with cancer and other serious illnesses.
Lynwen Truesdale, Shops Director of St Giles Hospice Shops, says: “Our shops are extremely popular with customers, who love browsing the high-quality second-hand and new items we sell.
“At the new Brownhills shop, local people can pick up a bargain for themselves as well as wonderful gifts for family and friends, knowing that their purchases also help provide care for our patients.”
The St Giles shop is open from Monday to Saturday from 9.30am – 5.00pm. Information is also available by calling 01543 370767.
Donations of quality second-hand clothes, books, CDs, DVDs and homeware can also be made at the store.
St Giles Hospice is a registered charity offering high-quality medical and nursing care for people with cancer and other serious illnesses, as well as providing support for their families and carers.
Patients come from across the hospice’s catchment area, which ranges from Ashby de la Zouch and Atherstone in the east, to Cannock and Walsall in the west – and from Burton and Uttoxeter in the north, to Sutton Coldfield and Coleshill in the south.
Care is offered at the hospice's facilities in Sutton Coldfield and Whittington between Lichfield and Tamworth, or in patients' own homes across the region.
St Giles spends over £5.5 million every year providing its specialist services and with less than a third of this funded by the Government, relies heavily on donations and fundraising, including the proceeds from its network of shops.
