Shoppers in Lichfield are being
offered the opportunity to purchase a vast selection of Christmas cards
- and help leading Midlands
charities at the same time.
The Midlands Charities Association Christmas Card Shop - organised by
Lichfield’s own St Giles Hospice - is now open at the Samuel Johnson
Birthplace Museum on Breadmarket Street.
A wide range of different cards from a host of charities all working to
aid the relief of human suffering are on sale – including those
from St Giles Hospice.
With the shop staffed by volunteers, an estimated 99% of proceeds from
the sale of the cards will go to the charities taking part.
The shop was officially opened today (Tuesday 19th October) by Mayor of
Lichfield Councillor Gwyneth Boyle and will remain open seven days a week
from 12noon to 4.30pm until Thursday 16th December.
