 St Giles will consider referrals for bereavement support and counselling from GPs and other healthcare professionals, in instances where other suitable bereavement services are not available in the community.
Clients of any age may be referred if they consent to the referral and are experiencing emotional and/or behavioural difficulties following the death of a relative or close friend.
Each referral is assessed on an individual basis and our acceptance from outside the hospice is dependant upon workload. If we are unable to accept an outside referral we will endeavour to refer the client to an alternative organisation for support and/or counselling.
 Any outside referrals made by telephone must be supported by written confirmation.
