As Orange Week comes to an end, there’s one thing everyone in the St Giles Community wants to say and that’s THANK YOU!

Thank you to every single patient, staff member, volunteer and supporter who has worn orange, baked orange, run and supported our events and in any way, shape or form got involved.

We wanted to celebrate our 35th anniversary and raise awareness of our work within our community as well as saying a massive thank you to all of our supporters and we’ve loved every minute!

It’s been an amazing week of events across the community, from the Lichfield and Cars in the Park and Pelsall Carnival to the Phoenix Family Walk in Sutton Coldfield.

We’ve seen an orange octopus on parade, a crack team of staff walking an amazing 35 miles between our sites and welcomed hundreds of visitors at our summer fairs.

In the community we’ve been supported by local businesses and schools going orange to fundraise for us, along with dozens of families taking part in our family walk, volunteers getting wet while cleaning cars and even an entire Tesco going orange!

And we finished up the week with an amazing day at our summer fairs in Walsall and Whittington, with a very special guest, our founder Paul Brothwell cutting our birthday cake!

You’ve made it a very, very special week – thank you all very, very much for your support not just this week but for the last 35 years.

It takes a community to make a hospice and we are so proud to be part of our community.
