12th June 2019, 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

18 available Complicated Grief - 12th June 2019£60.00

When is grief complex or complicated?

A study day for anyone who is involved in supporting families who are facing loss or have been bereaved.

Supporting grieving patients and families is a core aspect of palliative and end of life care. This can be a challenge for those involved, particularly when grief reactions appear to be unhelpful and complicated.

This study day will explore:

What is normal grief?

When does grief become complex or complicated?

When are patterns of responses helpful and unhelpful? Why does this happen?

What are the factors which may contribute to an unhelpful and complicated reaction?

How can we respond when people are struggling with their grief? What helps ?

This study day will be facilitated by Dr Chris Cutler – Clinical Psychologist, Jill Phillips – St Giles Lead for Counselling and Bereavement and Nikki Archer – St Giles Supportive Care Director

A Sandwich Lunch is included.
