My name is Hazel, and I’m so grateful to you, as a St Giles Hospice supporter, for giving me the most priceless gift of
all – a happy last Christmas with my mum, Beryl.
My mum was admitted to the Inpatient Unit towards the end of 2022, after a long battle with cancer. As soon as mum arrived at St Giles, I remember she just seemed so comfortable. Everything was taken care of, and we could just enjoy spending time together. The whole hospice felt so warm and welcoming, and we were able to come and go as often as we wanted. My family and I have a longstanding relationship with St Giles. My dad, Roger, was also cared for at the hospice in his final days, just a couple of years before mum.

I can’t put into words how amazing the care was that mum received from St Giles. The support they provide is second to none. The kindness the whole team shows to the patients, and their loved ones, is superb.
Throughout the festive season, we all begin to think about where we’d like to spend our money. We would’ve been lost without St Giles, which is why I’d encourage you to donate this Christmas, no matter how big or small.

Please donate what you can this Christmas and give other families living with a terminal illness a festive season filled with love and care.
Mum was a very special person, and thanks to St Giles our final Christmas together was one we will treasure forever.
With warmest wishes,
