These sessions explore the main topics in palliative care, including symptom management, advance care planning, the use and practicalities of syringe pumps and verification of death.

Placements
We offer a range of placement opportunities to enhance learning – including clinical student placements and professional placements.
Students at Staffordshire University, University of Wolverhampton, Birmingham City University, University of Birmingham, University of Derby and Keele University can join us for course-specific placements. We also welcome requests from registered healthcare professionals, who would like an opportunity to better understand hospices and discover what palliative care entails.

Community development
We offer training for employers, schools, community groups and more to enable everyone to talk more openly about death, dying and loss. From Understanding Bereavement Workshops to ‘How I Want To Go’ – a project aimed at talking about advance care planning – we welcome the opportunity to create connections and develop compassionate communities.
