As part of Katie’s Appeal, we’d love you to join #TeamStGiles and keep fit, have fun and raise vital funds to keep our key workers working during these extremely uncertain times. Right now, our nurses are covering miles to keep the Hospice going – can you?
Perhaps you’re an experienced runner who had planned to complete the London Marathon this year? A keen cyclist who was looking forward to Cycle Spring? Or maybe you’re just looking to add a bit more excitement to your daily exercise? No matter what your fitness level or age, Miles 4 St Giles is the fundraising event for you!
Run, walk, cycle or combine all three for St Giles as you complete a sponsored challenge over 30 days! Choose to complete the suggested miles, or your own distance, however and whenever you like. Be it indoors or out or with other members of your household or alone.
However you complete your miles, by raising sponsorship you will make a real difference in a month for local people and their families living with a terminal illness. Plus, you could earn yourself some St Giles goodies too! What are you waiting for? Sign up now!
Do it your way
Complete our set distances, or set your own!
Walk: 30 miles
Do a mile a day around the house or garden, on your treadmill or outdoors with the family in tow. You’ll be surprised how many ways you can walk 30 miles in a month (or further if you fancy!)
Run: 60 miles
Up your pace around the house or garden, turn up the speed on your treadmill or go for an outdoor run as long as you stick to current guidance! Tackle 2 miles a day or set your own distance – stairs or gradients optional!
Cycle: 90 miles
Static bike, electric bike or traditional pedal power! With many cycling events cancelled this spring, take on the challenge of 3 miles a day for 30 days or set your own distance.
Triathlon: 180 miles

Each time you reach significant milestones in your fundraising journey, you will achieve new rewards. Whether you’re taking on the challenge as an adult or junior (16 and under), your rewards will build up and be posted to you on completion of your challenge, so be sure to keep us up to date with your progress. Our team will be with you every step (or pedal) of the way! Good luck!

When you sign up to take part in Miles 4 St Giles, you will receive a digital fundraising pack, giving you plenty of tips and advice to help you raise as much as possible from home. Though you’re not able to take your sponsor form out with you at the moment, there are plenty of other ways to raise online including JustGiving or via Facebook. More about these in your pack.

We’ve never needed you more than we need you today.
We’ve recognised for a very long time that it takes a community to make a hospice and, in light of the current coronavirus outbreak, we’ve never needed you more than we need you today.
As a hospice we are experiencing a big increase in people needing palliative care at this time.
Our shops have had to close, our events are being cancelled and our income has almost dried up. We are now reliant on donations to continue our work.
We’re continuing to deliver care to some of the most vulnerable people in your local community, but it costs £850,000 every month just to keep our service going.
By taking part in Miles 4 St Giles and raising sponsorship too, you will be helping to raise vital funds for Katie’s Appeal to allow us to continue our essential work.
