Volunteer for us

Volunteers are essential to what we do at St Giles. In fact, we currently have almost 1,300 volunteers donating over 6,000 hours of time each week. Whether you give an hour, a day or become a regular volunteer with St Giles – your time will make a difference to the patients and families we care for.

We offer a wide range of volunteering opportunities right across the organisation, for example, in our shops, supporting fundraising and administrative functions, as bereavement support volunteers, working as part of our reception team and supporting patients in our daily activities or on our wards.

We’d love to see you at one of our open sessions where you’ll learn more about St Giles, hear from current volunteers and find out how to apply.

These sessions last about one hour and are held at St Giles Hospice in Whittington.

Please note, if you are interested in volunteering in one of our shops please pop along to your local shop or contact the shop manager directly.

IMPORTANT: Whilst we sadly can’t host our volunteer open sessions in person due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are aiming to run our upcoming sessions virtually, via Zoom. Please continue to book onto the open session date of your choice and we’ll send further information about the virtual session closer to the event. Thank you for your interest in volunteering for us and we look forward to welcoming you to a session soon, whether it’s online, or face-to-face in the future.

“Volunteering has given me a real sense of purpose and I never realised the self-reward I would feel from giving my time. I have made new friends and have met some incredible people and I feel very welcomed.”

– Julie, Volunteer Hairdresser.
