A special pink elephant has visited a number of local businesses to mark the release of the new Barbie movie – and highlight the upcoming St Giles Hospice March of the Elephants trail in 2024.
The Barbie-inspired elephant visited several of the trail’s sponsors in Lichfield and Tamworth who have already signed up to the 2024 trail including; presenting partner, SnowDome, Davisons Law, and Lichfield Cathedral.
March of the Elephants is an exciting new adventure for St Giles Hospice. The trail’s aim is to raise significant funding towards the work they do so that they can continue to provide vital care services for local people and their loved ones living with a terminal illness.
For 10 weeks the streets, parks and open spaces of Lichfield, Tamworth and Sutton Coldfield, will be home to a series of beautifully decorated elephant sculptures, each designed by local, regional and national artists, designers and illustrators – both well-known favourites and newly emerging talent.
Simon Warburton, Executive Director at Lichfield Cathedral, said: “As well as attracting more people into the cathedral and city, being part of the trail will allow us to have conversations within the community linking to our core purposes as an organisation. The trail will bring lots of added value and tourists to the city, helping them to discover places they haven’t been before”
Emma Yates, Associate Director of Income Generation at St Giles Hospice, said: “We’ve been welcoming new partners weekly and we’d welcome hearing from all local businesses that would like to join our parade. There are many sponsorship packages available, and we hope businesses across the region will recognise the economic and cultural benefits of becoming a sponsor as well as the positives for their own community.”
To celebrate the launch of the pink Barbie themed elephant, March of the Elephants is offering the chance for one lucky winner to win and ice skating session for up to 4 people, a SnowDome Climb session for up to 4 people, a snow fun park session for up to 4 people, and a flume & floats session for up to 4 people , kindly donated by their presenting partner, SnowDome.
