Patients and their loved ones at St Giles Hospice will now be able to enjoy new revamped and rejuvenated areas around the hospice, thanks to Inco Contracts.

St Giles Hospice in Whittington has received a mini-makeover by a refurbishment company following the death of one of the firm’s site managers.

The hospice has been caring for local people, and their loved ones, living with a terminal illness for 40 years.

Staff from Inco Contracts spent two days volunteering their time at St Giles, to thank staff for the care they provided to one of their site managers, Paul Finch, who sadly died at the hospice.

Projects included upgrading patio spaces for 13 patient bedroom and an upgrade to the outdoor roof terrace, where patients spend time with their loved ones. The work took place with thanks to over 320 volunteer hours and donations of materials and furniture.

Hannah Fahy, Head of Fundraising at St Giles Hospice, said: “We’re absolutely blown away by the support that Inco have given us. The work the team have done for us equates to over £40,000 worth of time and materials, and we can’t thank them enough for their generosity.”

Dave Cotterill, Managing Director at Inco Contracts, said: “Paul was a good friend and employee and it’s the least we could do for him to be honest.

“We’ve upgraded the external lighting, bollards outside, and just given the hospice a general refurbishment throughout the external areas.”
