St Giles Hospice will be welcoming visitors to an afternoon of fun at its annual Summer Fair in Whittington on Saturday 25th May.
The popular fundraising event will be offering attractions for all the family at the Whittington hospice in Fisherwick Road between 12-4pm. Entry will be £2 per person with children under 10 going free.
Elinor Eustace, Director of Fundraising at St Giles Hospice, said: “The St Giles Summer fair is one of the highlights of our year – that’s when it really feels like summer has started!
“Everyone is very welcome to come along and we really enjoy inviting the community in to the hospice and to thank them for all the support they have given us throughout the year.
“As usual we will be offering something for everyone with live music, delicious food and drink including a barbecue and strawberries and cream, craft and plant stalls, a raffle and tombola, face painting, pet-a-pony and so much more.”
Elinor said that St Giles Hospice needs to raise more than £9m each year to fund the vital work it does in the local community and that all money raised by the fair would go towards supporting patients and families using St Giles services.
“St Giles supports over 7,000 people each year facing the challenge of a potentially terminal illness,” she added. “But there are at least another 1,000 people in the community who could benefit from our support if the funds were available.”
