Palliative Care – The New Essentials. An Online Workshop for System Leaders and Trustees via Zoom

Event Details

This workshop will cover the fundamental components of how the public health approach can be structured in to the strategy and functioning of palliative care organisations. In particular, hospices have an important role to play and the new essentials provide a guide for the main areas of activity that underly this approach.

This free workshop is aimed at System Leaders and Trustees and is only available to those working for a Staffordshire based healthcare organisation.

This session will be facilitated by Dr Julian Abel

Julian spent his clinical life as a palliative care specialist doctor. He has developed a special interest in compassionate communities, initially as part of supporting people undergoing experiences of death, dying, loss & care giving. Over the last 4 years he has worked with Frome Medical Practice applying the compassionate community approach to healthcare in general, with some startling results. He is Director of Compassionate Communities UK, a charity which aims to share the lessons learnt in both palliative care and primary care more broadly.
