“I lost my husband to COVID-19 during the first lockdown. My world ended, but weekly contact with St Giles Hospice, as well as others who have been bereaved, has vastly helped. The group and counsellors are friendly, non-judgemental and always ready to listen. Each week the session remains a beacon of hope that, one day at a time, you can and will survive.” – Marian, Bereavement Help Point attendee
Support for Children and Young People
Phoenix is our dedicated bereavement support service for children and young people.
We know that children, and the people who care for them, can sometimes struggle to understand and support their reactions to death and dying.
Therefore, we work with families and other organisations to strengthen existing support networks and provide advice and training in helping young people who have lost a loved one.
We also offer a range of activities, such as one-to-one support, family group support, peer support and more.
For more information about how we can help you, please call 01543 434536 or email sct@stgileshospice.com.
Advice and Support Line
Should you need to contact St Giles Hospice out of hours, our Advice and Support Line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our specialist nurses can provide a listening ear and a safe space to talk about grief and loss, signposting patients, friends, family members or healthcare professionals to the best support available.
