Join our fundraising team

There’s a range of volunteer roles available including pre-event, event day and post-event.

You can support our fundraising team with many aspects of event planning and delivery. This is a varied and exciting role within a busy environment, with tasks ranging from administration to marshalling.

Whether you give an hour, a day or become a regular volunteer your time will make a difference to local people and their loved ones.

Fundraising Hub Receptionist Volunteer

Location: Whittington

What does it involve? We are looking for a number of volunteers to support within our new Fundraising Hub. The role will be both reception duties and supporting sales in our new cashless retail shop, involving professionally meeting and greeting both fundraisers and shop visitors.

This would suit someone who is looking for regular weekly volunteering on a set half or full day basis. Please state when applying which days you are available.

Volunteering hours: Monday 1pm – 4pm, Tuesday 1pm – 4pm and Thursday 1pm – 4pm

Community Ambassador Volunteer

Location: Local community

What does it involve? We’re looking for a number of community ambassadors to represent the Hospice at local events, recognise our communities fundraising efforts, and raise awareness of the work of St Giles Hospice.

Some examples of what an ambassador may do:

  • Attending cheque presentations on behalf of the St Giles fundraising team to thank and say a few words about how the money raised will help make a difference.
  • Deliver talks to local community groups, faith groups, rotary clubs, women’s institute groups etc. about the work of the charity and the ways in which they can helps us achieve our goals.
  • Manage information and fundraising stands at local events.
  • Attend bucket collections at local venues.

You don’t have to be an existing volunteer or have fundraising experience as full training will be provided. Having confidence and professionalism is a key attribute we’re looking for in this role.

Volunteering hours: Flexible mixture of evenings and weekends (typically 2-3 hours per event)
