Light the Night is set to be Lichfield’s biggest summer night out – expect glowing lights, a city walk with a buzz, and an unforgettable atmosphere!
Light the Night 2026
Taking place on Saturday 27th June, the night will start at Lichfield Sports Club from 7pm, with a lively 8k route through the city filled with entertainment along the way as well as a party with music and refreshments to get you ready to Light the Night!
Every participant will receive an official Light the Night T-shirt which can be collected from our Whittington site the week before the event or collected on the day, along with a digital event pack to help you get started.
By taking part, you’ll be helping St Giles Hospice continue providing vital care to local people, and their loved ones, when they need it most.

Light the Night FAQs
We ask that all participants for Light the Night are 16 or over on the day of the event.
Sorry, no dogs except guide dogs are permitted at this event due to the large amount of people expected to attend, loud music and entertainment.
There are lots of ways to fundraise for St Giles.

Resources to help with your fundraising will also be sent out to participants nearer the event date.

Yes, there will be a range of sparkly merchandise that you can buy on the night, as well as the opportunity to visit our glitter station. Cash and cards accepted all around the event village.
Yes, there will be toilets at Lichfield Sports Club and at our halfway point in Lichfield City Centre.
We will have food vendors before the event providing burgers and snacks and there will also be water and snacks provided to all walkers at the halfway point. There will be the same arrangements for the end of the walk too.
Yes, if you feel like you are unable to complete the walk, inform one of our marshals who can arrange for a support vehicle to pick you up.
Yes, there will be a first aid provider at this event. If you require first aid, or believe another participant does, please inform your nearest marshal as soon as possible.
The event will finish once the last walkers have crossed the finish line. We anticipate this to be at around 11:30pm. You should allow between 90-120 minutes to complete the course depending on your walking speed.

Whilst we are are grateful for your fundraising efforts, we ask that you DO NOT bring any sponsorship money along on the night. You can bring your money in after the event and there are several ways to do this.
Take it to St Giles Hospice Main Reception, Fisherwick Road, Whittington, WS14 9LH.
If you are paying your sponsor money in person, please bring along any relevant sponsor forms. If you are paying any funds in online, make sure that you post any sponsorship forms to us so we can claim gift aid on any donations. Gift aid helps your donations go further, giving an extra 25p on every pound you give. Sponsorship forms can be posted to use at Fundraising, St Giles Hospice, Fisherwick Road, Whittington, WS14 9LH.
