Our care

We offer emotional, physical and practical support right from day one for you and those closest to you.

Whether it’s helping with pain relief, supporting a loved one or just being there to listen, we understand that sometimes it’s the little things that can make the biggest difference.

We deliver personalised care and support at our two centres in Lichfield and Sutton Coldfield as well as helping you in your own home if that’s where you want to be.

In addition, our Hospice at Home service provides high quality care in familiar surroundings at the end of life.

In fact, our dedicated healthcare team are on hand to help you 24/7, and when the end does come we will still be here to provide family support and bereavement services for as long as they’re needed.

St Giles Hospice was awarded the highest possible accolade of ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission in January 2020. Find out more and read the report here.

Our aim is to help you to live your life as you want to live it. We will work with you and those treating you to get the best support, treatments or medicines so that you can.

It’s important for patients to retain a sense of control so our therapies team will work with you to find out what matters most and help you achieve it.

It might be something as simple as helping you to spend quality time with your children or grandchildren. It could be making a meal or even discussing plans you might want to put in place to ensure your wishes are met.

Our help could involve bringing in new equipment, developing a personalised exercise plan or just supporting friends and relatives as they work out the best ways to help to support you if you need them.

We understand that your emotional wellbeing – and that of those closest to you – is just as important as your physical wellbeing.

That’s why our Family Support Service offers confidential support and counselling for you and your family throughout your illness and treatment and into bereavement if required.

The financial burden caused by a potentially incurable illness can be worrying too so we can signpost to services that include advice and guidance on benefits and other financial support.

If you’d like to find out more feel free to contact us at any time.

It’s the human touch that really sets St Giles apart. The staff really tried to understand what made my wife tick, not just medically but personally as well.” Read More >
