December at St Giles

December has arrived at St Giles Hospice!

We’d love for you to support us throughout our 40th anniversary year in 2023!

We’re here for you

Whether you are looking for a special way to remember a loved one or seeking additional support, our team is here to help.

If you’re experiencing a bereavement, supporting a grieving friend or relative, or just need someone to talk to, we offer a variety of services to help during this time.

Help us create magical memories this Christmas

Hazel’s mum, Beryl, spent her final Christmas at St Giles last year and she’s kindly shared her story to show how your support makes a difference to local families, just like hers. She said: “For Mum, spending Christmas at St Giles was like spending Christmas at home, the staff became like family and were always going above and beyond for us, as they do for patients all year round. Thank you for giving me the most priceless gift of all – a happy last Christmas with my mum”.

Light up a Life

This week we held the first of our Light up a Life services at Lichfield Cathedral and our Whittington Hospice. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all those who came together to remember their loved ones with us.

If you didn’t get a chance to attend our first two services, there’s still time to attend a service either in-person or tune in to our virtual service which will be streamed on Tuesday 12th December.

Book your TreeCycle collection

Did you know, according to the British Christmas Tree Growers Association, between 6-8 million Christmas trees are sold in the UK every Christmas season.

In return for a donation, we’ll collect and recycle your real Christmas tree. Saving you time and hassle, whilst also contributing to a more sustainable future.

Christmas raffle

There’s just one month left to play our Christmas Raffle! With over £11,000 worth of prizes up for grabs – could you enter the new year as one of our lucky winners?

Every raffle ticket sold helps to ensure we can continue to support local people, and their loved ones, living with a terminal illness this Christmas.

New additions to March of the Elephants herd

We’re delighted to have had 30 schools and community groups adopt their very own elephant sculpture, which will feature in our family-friendly art trail next summer.
